What can we do in the face of climate crisis, social upheaval and digital overstimulation? And can a planted tree sometimes change more than a thousand online posts? As part of the exhibition «Fantastische Karten», the Zentralbibliothek Zürich will discuss Tolkien, hope and the responsibility of each individual. For this, Tobias M. Eckrich, Chair of the German Tolkien Society, travels from Germany especially for this event. Together with film and theatre director Sama Schwarz, he discusses what insights Tolkien's stories can offer for the present day. Tolkien scholar and organizer Lukas O. Ritzel moderates the conversation.
