Jot is in his mid-50s and has built his life around planning and control. He works for a company that sells bunkers to the super-wealthy and is thus privately prepared for any emergency – or so he thinks. When he comes across a dead body while jogging, his carefully constructed life suddenly begins to crumble. Why can't he stop seeing the image of the dead body – and is it really suicide, as the police say? Filmmaker and author Julia von Lucadou tells with sensitivity in her new novel "Times of Heightened Danger" (Hanser Berlin 2026) of the insecurities and derailments of our present.
