Muddi Johanna, the Holy Johanna of the Slaughterhouses, Jeanne d'Arc, Joan of Arc has stepped out of the pages of Bertolt Brecht's book and is ready to save the animals, the world, everything. But from what exactly? Decidedly multifaceted in their glampunk attitude, three performers dedicate themselves to Özlem Özgül Dündar's new interpretation of Bertolt Brecht's Holy Johanna of the Slaughterhouses. In the intimacy of a Tiny Desk Performance they conjure up Holy Johanna, the martyr – only she can save the animals and the rest of the world this evening. And so she rises from the letters of the book onto the stage boards. Musically, she raises her voice, answers the cattle's lament with her own songs and ever new short stories, and wages the fight against exploitation.
