Changes and transience surround us constantly, yet in everyday life we often give them little space. "A Certain Darkness Is Needed to See the Stars" is an invitation for a maximum of twenty people to engage with these themes. It is neither a normal concert nor a theoretical workshop, but a transformative experience space, at the core of which stands Ramón Oliveras' drum solo. The piece combines elements from drumming rituals, contemporary minimalism, and techno-rave into a unique sound and movement experience. In the first part of the afternoon, we focus on arrival and setting personal intentions. Afterwards, the intense 40-minute live drum solo invites you to listen and engage. Finally, we integrate the experience through the soothing sounds of the Japanese shakuhachi bamboo flute and voluntary sharing of experiences over tea and fruit. Whether you're grieving a loved one, saying goodbye to something old, letting go of uncollected experiences, wanting to give space to a feeling, or simply curious about this experience and have never encountered such an experience space before: you are welcome! And you can decide at any time how you want to participate: whether lying down, sitting, or moving, whether in silence or expressing yourself. "A Certain Darkness Is Needed to See the Stars" is a space to simply be, to feel your own body, and to curiously observe what happens in resonance with the music.
