A free adaptation of William Shakespeare's "The Tempest". Performance dates: – Friday, November 13, 19:30 – Saturday, November 14, 19:30 – Sunday, November 15, 16:30 Venue: Gymnasium Unterstrass About the play: A lonely island, somewhere in the sea: The exiled Duke Prospero has lived here for twelve years in exile, together with his daughter Miranda – and with a magical power that gives him what was taken from him as a prince: power. When the ship of his former enemies runs aground in a storm that he himself has conjured up, the hour of revenge seems to have come. But Prospero carries not just one grudge within him, but three faces: the loving father, the ruling sorcerer, the exiled prince. And only one truly knows what justice could mean. As betrayal, love and lust for power mix anew on the island, those stranded – and Prospero's own spirit Ariel, the wild Caliban, the loyal Gonzalo – ask their own questions about their freedom: Must one return to the old order as soon as one can? Or does true liberation lie elsewhere?
